In the southern half of the island, south of Zallag Highway, Bahrain turns from a sprawling metropolis, to a desert with nothing but oil and gas well.
As you continue south, you pass the Bahrain National Gas Company gas plant, work trucks, and sand. Finally, you see a sign that says "Tree of Life." Turning down a dirt road you find a tree.
But this tree is not just any tree, it is Bahrain's Tree of Life. A tree in the middle of the desert that has grown for 400+ years.
It looks a lot like a tree. But the ice cream truck is a nice addition that most trees don't have.
