I had a cup of coffee today for the first time in a few weeks. It wasn't anything special, just a 16 oz cup of regular black coffee. But when that caffeine hit my body, I could feel the buzz!
I read once that drinking coffee to stay awake only works if you do not regularly drink coffee because your body gets use to the caffeine. When your body is not use to hit, you have the kick like I got today. Regularly drinking caffeine will result in your body not reacting to it.
The obvious solution to this problem is to just keep drinking more coffee.
